For many years, the 5 open acres at the West end of Licking County Equestrian Center have been used as hay fields.

Thanks to Vicky and Jeff Christiansen, the ownership of these two parcels of land recently passed to Chelsea and Justin Francis. This is now the OFFICIAL future site of Equus Ridge Winery!
We continue to tweak and perfect our building plans, considering needs such as ample outdoor seating, an event space, and kitchen area. Once we are happy with our designs, they will be passed on to an engineering team, and then the process of calculating building costs and securing permits can begin.

Our Summer hours are in full swing, so come visit us on Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00-8:00, and Saturdays from 2:00-8:00.

Equus Ridge at the Southeastern Ohio Beer and Wine Fest

This Saturday, Zanesville will be home to the Pop & Pour 2022, where nearly 50 wines and beers will be available to try. We will have 3 favorites available! Get your tickets here: www.mccf.org/Pop-And-Pour . Proceeds from the event will support community grants. We hope to seee you there!

The hard work and persistence has paid off, and today we are excited to "open the doors" of our tasting spaces. Beginning today, visitors can purchase tasting flights, a glass of wine, or a bottle, and enjoy it here on the property during regular business hours. We look forward to serving you!

The Long-Awaited Expansion

In May, we filed for an expansion that would allow us to serve our guests on site. Fast-forward past four months of emails, phone calls, health department contacts, confusion, etc. Today, we are excited to announce that as of this week, we are officially licensed to open our Tasting Venue!

As you can see, our space is completely outdoors. What a beautiful setting to visit with friends, listen to the sounds of nature and the farm, and enjoy a tasting, glass, or bottle!
As our tasting venue is subject to the weather, be sure to check our website, Facebook, and IG when making plans to visit us. We are wheelchair accessible.

The Art of Preparation

The designing of our labels is in full swing, with two already receiving Federal approval. We still have four to go, then will be ready to seek State approval. In the meantime, we continue working with our suppliers to get ready for juice order and pick-up, and with an artist to get our logo finalized. Things are beginning to move quickly around here!

It's official! Equus Ridge Winery received Ohio Licensure, and we are ready to move forward with the crafting and production of our amazing wines for SALE!

Production Room Completion

We started this process in June, when an initial inspection threw our old construction plans out the window - literally. After pulling back up our bootstraps, July construction began with the replacement of a window with a door. Today, we finished off the project by setting up all the new, upgraded equipment. What a gorgous sight, indeed!

Best of the Best

To date, the winemakers have trialed more than 50 different recipes, using 8 different grape and berry juices. Thanks to our friendly taste-testers, we have been able to narrow down to the single best recipe for 4 of those juices. These will be produced and blended to craft the first Equus Ridge Wines to hit the market, when the time finally comes!
